I have created a monster, well actually a bunch of little hummingbird monsters.  I bought a couple of new plastic humming bird feeders, which they seem to prefer over the pretty glass ones.  I filled them all up with fresh 1 part sugar to 4 parts water (boiled and cooled) and put them strategically in the front and back yard.  Instead of them enjoying the new feeders there are apparently two hummingbird families wanting dibs on the feeders.  They are buzzing and dive bombing and creating quite an entertaining show.  I am sure there is some birder out there, tsk, tsking me, maybe too many feeders is not a good idea.

This has been a complete distraction for me.  I can’t stop sitting and watching them and taking photos, to the point of maybe, I need an intervention.  My sister and brother in law were at the house this weekend and I was sharing my new passion with them.  They made a hasty retreat.  Good thing I am back to my day job tomorrow.
